Martint
So, today, while I was using the computer, I get a message (Disk space running low), so I checked and was amazed to see I only had 50Megabytes of space left. (Vista is just on a 20GB parition). so, I googled around and found about this program called CCleaner.Used it, and it cleared around 4 gigs of useless stuff.Amazing Program and it's free!http://www.ccleaner.com/
robroy
yeah, its a nice little program but be careful using it. You can easily delete stuff that is neededATF Cleanerwill also do a good job of cleaning your drives
TheTerrorist_75
CCleaner and ATF Cleaner used wrong can remove necessary items. This thread really doesn't fit in with the topic of this section. This is for Vista tweaks and tips. Those two programs are for cleaning unwanted remnants of any Windows OS. martymas
i was using CCleanerfor some yearsactually when it first came on the sceneand i found it quite dangerousif not used properly as well it wasnt saving me any spaceas at the time i was limited in my resourcesit dosent save any more space then the usual cleaning of your comptto clean all the extensionswhich is what CCleaner does they danger is that it will take a d.ll file as it did for mewhich i couldnt replaceand had to reinstall windowsthere are safer appli's out there to do this task ime not condeming the apply only pointing out the dangers for a new userit maybe ok for an experienced campaignerbut to a new user take carei would not have it on my sys again at the time there were no warnings of the pit falls from the program but later when all these complaints came in they issued a warning to all usersso if martini uses it successfully. ok but point out the dangers of the programmarty
Martint
ha, well I'm only using it on my seconadry PC.no important docs there!
mikex
I use it along with Cleanup and ATF no problems so far.I like the fact that it has a "mild" registry cleaner that asks to make a backup before making changes. Reg cleaners can get folks in to some deep poo. I have it on my portable drive, able to install it quick and painlessly.M
