iccaros Posted May 25, 2007 Report Share Posted May 25, 2007 which version of red hat?but in most cases the command lshal will get you all the informaiton you may need on your devices, you will have to look through itlshal -s (gives the short name only.. look for something like storage_serial_SATA_WDC_WD1600BEVS__WD_WXE207407016mine is a western digital WD1600BEVS drive with serial number WD_WXE207407016 or you can use gparted and go to view check show device information. if gparted is not installed its in yum so the command yum install gparted wil install it, you need to be root to run these commands.
