hi team i have this problem

as i alread use xp32 bit

i tried to install xp64 bit

on a spare hdd as a dual boot with xp32 bit

but near the end of the install i had to abort the

install because

two dll files were missing on the 64 bit

and wouldnt let me continue with the instalation

now when i boot into the 32bit

it gives me two choices to boot either into th 32 bit or the 64bit

but the 64 bit is no longer there

as i deleted the the 64 bit partition in compt management

is there any way i can get round this

i hope i have explained my problem

clearly

other than reinstalling windows

my god i feel like a lost child

Hi Marty.

To remove the Dual boot option.

Follow these Steps.

1. Right Click on My Computer

2.. Select Properties

3. Select Advanced Tab

4. Select Settings In the Startup & Recovery Section(3rd grp)

5. Select the operating system which u want.

6. And Click OK.

7. Further again press the setting and click on Edit.

8. It will open boot.ini File.

9. Now u can delete those o/s which you don't want to be displayed.

Note: Before making any changes make a copy of boot.ini file.

thanks JS

ive done before

but ide forgotten how it was done

some years since i had to do it

i could have done it in

ms config

but the problem

was that dam bootini file

options

in msconfig

if you change the options

each time you reboot your compt

a notice appeared on the screen

to go in and change the options to normal boot

and that was a real pain

this way i dont have those problems

i have your fix on a cd some where

but buggered if i can find it

it was once discussed on tech tv

thanks again

marty
