martymas Posted May 25, 2007 Report Share Posted May 25, 2007 hi team i have this problem as i alread use xp32 bit i tried to install xp64 bit on a spare hdd as a dual boot with xp32 bitbut near the end of the install i had to abort the install because two dll files were missing on the 64 bit and wouldnt let me continue with the instalation now when i boot into the 32bitit gives me two choices to boot either into th 32 bit or the 64bitbut the 64 bit is no longer thereas i deleted the the 64 bit partition in compt managementis there any way i can get round this i hope i have explained my problem clearly other than reinstalling windowsmy god i feel like a lost childmarty Quote Link to post Share on other sites

JSKY Posted May 26, 2007 Report Share Posted May 26, 2007 Hi Marty.To remove the Dual boot option.Follow these Steps.1. Right Click on My Computer2.. Select Properties3. Select Advanced Tab4. Select Settings In the Startup & Recovery Section(3rd grp)5. Select the operating system which u want.6. And Click OK.7. Further again press the setting and click on Edit.8. It will open boot.ini File.9. Now u can delete those o/s which you don't want to be displayed.Note: Before making any changes make a copy of boot.ini file. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
martymas Posted May 27, 2007 Author Report Share Posted May 27, 2007 thanks JSive done before but ide forgotten how it was done some years since i had to do it i could have done it in ms configbut the problem was that dam bootini fileoptionsin msconfig if you change the options each time you reboot your compt a notice appeared on the screen to go in and change the options to normal boot and that was a real pain this way i dont have those problemsi have your fix on a cd some where but buggered if i can find it it was once discussed on tech tvthanks againmarty Quote Link to post Share on other sites
