yes i know the area well when i was a young man i worked on

a scheme whe the power was made form the motion of the waves

milford is on the went coast of the south island

and is a tourists dream

the sound runs up a fiord

for many miles

but the bird and habitat life is protected

and there is a heavy fine for disturbing it

the scheme i worked involved the motion of the waves

to create electricity

but it was made in such a way it

didnt disturb the atmostphere

it is also earth quake prone

and is the center of a fault line

for many years we were known around the world as the shaky isles

if youve read the news in the last coupla days

we had shocks that started from milford

and traveled up the length of the two islands

and now we have a mountain erupting

and spewing lahar

i havent seen this stuff other than the local news

but it must be scary for the inhabitants

yes barb if you get to travel come and have a look

ile hunt for some of the nature brochures and post them

you have a happy easter

I recently watched a program on alternative energy sources. One they featured was wave generated electricity. I thought it was a more recent technology. Interesting stuff

i think saudi arabia

has been using this tech for many years

at the time here in nz

it was an experiment

for alternate energy

but is now services one fifth of the south island

out put

some countrys need it or go neuclear

much of the habitat is still in its pristeen state

the days i was there

we used to live in an old cruise ship that had been

stationed there for accomadation

as it is an isolated area

we needed good livings conditions

to keep the workers from buggering off

sultan probably knows about the tech

of wave motion

as he comes from saudi arabia

ive just been informed scotland has the wave tech

and has used it for several years

they are trying to reraise the issue here

if we dont want neuclear

then it is either the wind waves or the sun

Hey Marty:

I ran across these photos when I was checking out the weather for the next day before I went to bed, and thought I would post them so you could see them. It still amazes me how small this world really is. Here I am seeing photos from NZ that many, many years ago I would not have the chance to see. The internet is a great thing.

that is why i love the internet

so i can communicate with people like your self

once i had a one sided view of the world

which evolved around what i was taught

at one time i thought americans were rich arogent

didnt care about the outside world

but the internet has taught me

different lessons

and ime so glad of the knowkedge

after meeting people like your self
