Besttechie
Well, I guess the question is what's his current card?B
IEatHardDrives
GeForce 6600 he is not planning on upgrading to vista so I see no reason why he should get a dx10 card. Edited December 17, 2006 by IEatHardDrives
Besttechie
Yeah, it's a nice upgrade - I assume he games? Also, I'm not a big fan of EVGA - but that's just personal preference. B
IEatHardDrives
He plays BF2, BF2142, CSS and Oblivion
Besttechie
I think I should also point out the fact that if I recall correctly, the GS series is the lower end model of the card. However, I read a review that said it seems to be quite a nice card: http://www.nforcershq.com/article6621.htmlB
Martint
You can't beat EVGA's support and warrenty, so you chose a good model. As for the card, like besttechie said, the GS series is kind on the low end.Just pay extra and get a GT.Use this website: http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html
Honda_Boy
That would cbe an awesome upgrade as EVGA supports overclocking and changing cooling solutions. I have twin 7600GT's that are just about on par with a single 7950GT and they handle my games pretty good. The only DX10 cards available at the moment are ridiculously expensive so I see no need for them yet. When they come out with an 8600GT then I'll get one. When I play (which I haven't gamed much at all in the last 2 months, In all 30 minutes of CS:S and an hour and half of DoD:S in those 2 months) I play games like BF2, CoD2, DoD:S and of course as IEatHardDrives knows, CS:S. I swear I'll get back in some time and kick some tail in the Hard Mud servers again. It's safe to say I ain't ranked anymore. I used to be like #40 something and I was #1 with the FAMAS.
