shanenin
I was working a on an XP computer which was running at 400 mb or memory usage at bootup with IE running, they also had a bunch of IM programs, like 5 going, each using about 20 mbs. I also noticed iexplore.exe was using 40mb. That seems like way to much. What is casuing it to use so much memory, is it installed activex controls? I did a scan with spysweeper, and the computer was relatively clean. Edited December 11, 2006 by shanenin
TheTerrorist_75
Make sure it's C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Iexplore.exe) and not C:\Windows\Iexplore.exe or C:\WinNT\Iexplore.exe).Check to see how many versions of Java are installed and how many instances are listed in ActiveX. BTW, the newest version is 1.6.0.Seeing as they have so many IM programs how many toolbars are installed in IE?
shanenin
I bet your right, each of those tool bars are probably adding a lot of memory.
