Why A Greeting Card Cannot Get Through

Recommended Posts

I've decided just to see if any of you have any ideas on this.

A friend of my mother tries to send her Jacqui Lawson electronic greeting cards,

but my mother never receives them.

The friend sends them to me occasionally also, but I receive them just fine.

I have checked my mother's computer for blocked messages and

they are not being blocked. [she uses Outlook Express].

I have always had her Norton anti spam feature completely off

and have double checked that it still is. She has a firewall, but so do I,

so I don't think that would be stopping a greeting card email.

Sure would appreciate any suggestions.

Who is your mothers ISP? I would check to see if you can pull the mail from their servers. I have comcast cable and I can retrieve mail without opening OE. I could do the same thing when I had dial-up (earthlink) This way you can check to see if the mail is making it to the servers or not, or being stopped by OE.

Hope that helped a little.

Thanks, Terrorist. Good point.

Talked to her ISP, and they assurred me that they didn't block messages.

I was able to go her server, though, and found that for some reason the

messages never got there. At least I know for sure it's not her

computer because I was really stumped.

Thanks to you both!

Sounds like you mom's friend doesn't have the correct e-mail address for your mom. Make sure she is sending it to the correct address.
