It seems to work fine on my other computer with XP on it. But then again the installer does not seem to be working as it downloads 3-4mb and then resets.
Does anyone know where the full offline installer file is at?
-
That link does nothing. I can try live updates.
-
I tried google chrome and it said the link was broken.
Can you guys download it?
Maybe one of you can download the full version and upload it for me.
-
Well it does nothing for me, that link above.

I need version 3.5 for a program. Microsoft IS NOT working so I can't get it to install at is is trying to download more from the MS website which is DOWN STILL.
Can someone help me find version 3.5 full?
-
So I REALLY need the .net framework to use one of my programs and well microsoft has had a broken link for 2 days. I find that pitiful for such a large company.
Where can I download the FULL version for Vista? See I did get the 2.8mb one downloaded but when it tried to connect to the server it does not get it. I had to download that installer from cnet because MS site is DOWN well for that link.

"VIA_VT8237_SATARAID_Floppy\VIA_RAID_Floppy\i386\NT5"
I did not see that option. I just hit add to the files by hitting driver on the program.
Now it see's the HD and is installing windows.
Thanks a lot! What a mess. I hope this thread helps others like me new to SATA drives and saves them some time.
Oh and one more thing, wow do sata drives move. XP installed in like 5 minutes!
-
That is VERY confusing even for me and I am the computer geek around town.
Are these the right drivers, I dont see a floppy thing on them.

I am lost and my parents are impatient.

I don't know how. When I hit the delete key it does not have "disable raid" anywhere.
-
Yeah it does not offer anything but to install XP on the drive.

Can I somehow do a repair install through a IDE to USB thing like I got to repair windows on the hard drive as when I put it in the PC the windows disk will not give me the option to repair it.
-
I am back from my beach trip. I plug my drive in again and make sure the jumper is set on the number 2 prongs. I use a new jumper I found....
Anyways it shows the drive in the bios now but windows disk can't find it. When I hit tab "to enter user" it says NOTICE:
The number of disks is not adequate to create a raid.
I have just one hard drive and it is set on the "SATA 1" port.
What do I do now?
-
How do I set it to IDE mode? If I don't get it done tonight then my parents will be without a computer till Sunday.
-
I did it like this and the bios nor the windows disk still does not see my drive. The bios saw my drive before....

It does not say on my drive how to set it to ata 150. Do you know how? It does have 4 slots on it. I put it on the second slot.
It is a Western Digital SE16 hard drive.

I do not have a floppy drive and don't have any cd's with sata drivers on it.
-
OEM disk. Xp home and it does not see the hard drive.
-
Okay windows still does not see my drive. How can I set up a drive for sata?
-
It did not come with one but the old one has a broken one on it(sorta).
I bet this will make it slower? I hope to get a new MB,ram and CPU soon for the pc but money is tight.

KT8neo2
K8t800Pro Chipset
It is a brand new drive and has no data on it. I dont have another desktop but can use the drive with my new sata to usb thing.
-
Okay so you all were helping me in with my HD problem earlier.
I bought a new 640gb WD HD and a little ide to usb thing.
The drive works fine and so it was not the drive but the virus. I did a scan through my laptop on the HD and it found a couple of viruses.
I have not used AVG yet but I did use Adaware and Malwarebytes.
Anyways the old drive was IDE and the new drive is sata.
I hooked up my new drive(old one is not in) to sata 1 on the Motherboard.
I go to set up Xp with my cd and the pc can't find the drive.
So what is up with that?

The pc wont even load seatools on my cd. It goes to a black screen and does nothing like the tutorial shows:
http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/self...sp?DocId=201271
I never see a agreement it just goes to a black screen and shows a:/
-
But from this guy's description of his problem he just is stuck on the blue screen and doesn't see the black one. That's why I'm almost certain it's a corrupted boot sector, because he isn't getting past the blue welcome screen.
Yes I see the "Welcome" screen and it is blue haha. I hit the name button that usually boots the pc to the desktop. It says loading personal settings or whatever then it just immediately says saving personal settings and takes me back to the blue screen.
When I hit ctrl alt and delete it just pops up a login box and not the task manager.

Sorry for the long delay since my last post.
"Do you see any partitions when you go to install?"Yes but it is not labeled XP home just shows 130gb of space which is probably the partition size.
"Have you tried Use Last Known Good Configuration?"Yes and it failed.
"Try chkdsk a couple more times and see if it sees your partition."It says your hard drive has one or more unrecoverable errors on it or something.
"4. If the repair option isn't there then update me as much as you can about the exact error messages, what partitions you see in the recovery console and the installation spot. How far you get into the splash screens when loading in normal mode and safe mode."When I go to "setup xp" it brings up a screen and shows the partition(unknown) with 131 gb of space. I have 2 partitions on this 300gb HD.
When I turn on the computer normally it goes to the welcome screen where I click the name and it just starts to load and then automatically says it is saving my data and does a loop. It does the same thing in safe mode.
open this linkscrol to maxtor and load it on to a floppy
I do not have a floppy drive that works. What about a CD or USB drive?
4. When it finishes, you should be given a screen asking which XP installation you want to repair. In most cases, there will only be one choice. Select the one you would like to repair. Repair the selected installation by pressing RĂ‚. If you do not see a repair option, you will need to do a clean install. Your version of Windows could have been damaged beyond repair. That is from the Repair install page. When I hit set up windows now and hit f8 it lists the partition and says I can set up XP on that partition now and does not have a option to repair. Do I hit set up now and it won't format right away?
you can then do an easy fixmbrI went into the recovery console and hit "fixmbr" and it still did not boot.
Logitech Wireless Keyboard Messes Up Laptop Keyboard When Not In Use
in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Posted
So I got a cool wireless keyboard and laser mouse kit for my laptop so I could type easier without hurting my wrists so much.
It is really awesome but when I go to take my laptop out and use it as a laptop I can't even type on it because some of the keys either do not do anything or they type another letter than what is printed on the key.
How can I fix this?
This is in Windows Visa.
