  1. i fixed it for you. now you have 2 choices. ;)

personally i think the X-Box is over bloated with useless features raising the price to far too high and is still far to unstable for actual use. far too many people with problems and most of the games were obviously rushed out because the X-Box was rushed out. it's just too darn gimmicky right now for my taste.

    Well said.

  2. it may be a acpi issue

at the first prompt at boot type this is

    linux acpi=off

its right after teh system starts to boot, most people hit enter here to make it boot..

I tried that, but it didnt boot the Live CD, it started to install, I noticed because it asked how I wanted to partition. ^_^

    Shall I try something different?

  3. Calder DR-DoS 7.03

    Current Options

    /MLX /BL=16 /LEN D=ON /DELAY=OFF

are you sure you have a ubuntu disk?

and you burnt the disk as a image and not tell nero to make a bootable cd ??

Heh, well, I got the CD one, and I told nero to make a bootable disk

  4. Rawr, so I tried again, and I wrote down what it said.

    Calder DR-DoS 7.03

    Current Options

    /MLX /BL=16 /LEN D=ON /DELAY=OFF

    I'm running Windows XP Home SP2, Dell 2350, 512 RAM, ATI Radeon 9250 256mb

    No other computer.

    And I used a DVD-R ( is that okay? )

The DVD Drive I has is fairly new too.

  5. no you need a program like Nero or Nero express, I usually open Nero Express then choose make an ISO. that takes care of putting it on the blank cd. Next reboot your computer with the disk in the drive making sure your system boots from the cd-rom not the hard drive. then enjoy

ahh Okay, I have Nero. So i'll give it a try. Thanks. ;)

  6. first idea would be to download a livecd of a distro. This way you get a general feeling for linux without having to do a full install. That way if Linux isn't right for you, you haven't screwed up your Windows install.

Ubuntu is a good one pretty much works out of the box.

or any other distro you might be insterested in, you can find a list of them at FozenTech's LiveCd List

regardless of which one you choose, someone here can help you out.

    Thanks, downloading ubuntu now.
