Hello all! I just upgraded my computer yesterday and had the computer store do a quick mount to make sure the motherboard and processor and ram are in good working order. I brought the parts home and installed every thing correctly. When I first turned on the computer it gave me on short beep ok. The next time I had to shut it down and went back to turn it on I got a medium beep and a short beep, but the computer boots up fine. This morning I go to turn my computer on and get all kinds of beep then a continuous beep that won't stop. I then shut down the computer and turned it back on and got o

Hello all! I have a problem with my desktop computer. When I went to turn it on, It would not power up and all I saw was the lights and fans turned of for a brief moment, but thats it. I probably already know what is wrong, but wanted to get your guys opinion's if I am correct or not. Is it the power supply that is shot? Thanks for the help Bryan

I had it installed on my laptop but had problems with the wireless connecting to any wireless router. I really liked this distro too, only if I could get the wireless to connect all the time.

Hello My dad system contains of: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 (motherboard) ATI Radeon X300 PCI Express Video Card 1GB Ram Windows Vista Home Basic onboard sound 80GB 7200 Harddrive I took the card back to the store it was bought and they showed me that the card was not a bad one, and was working correctly. I tried uninstalling the old drivers from ati, then shutting it down and installing the new card but it wont boot up. I can only get into the bios setting and thats about it. I did what the store told me to try but that ended up in the wash lol. I have the same motherboard with

Yes the post screen where it detects your hardware (when you first turn your computer on) I can get into the the bios setting but thats as far as it will let me go. Linux live cd will not work because it hangs at the post screen with one beep as i don't get any beep errors at all. Sorry thats the best way I can explain the problems with this computer. Sceeter32

The card is compatible with Vista as it says on the box. Also I tried installing this card with no O/S on the harddrive and still stalls on the boot screen. Sceeter32

Yes the old card was a pci express card. I did look in the bios but could not fine anything that looks wrong.

Hello Everyone! The other day my dad went out and bought him self a EVGA Nvidia Geforce 7600GT PCI E card. I uninstalled the driver to his old card then installed his new card for him and when I booted the system up it stalled on the post screen. The next thing I thought was to reseat the card again thinking that it wan't seated properly, so I turn it back on and the same problem again. I put the old card in and it works fine. Then next day I took the card back to the store where he bought it and they tested the card and said it wasn't defective, and works fine. My dads system is custom built

Hi all! I just bought a new laptop and I know it's not the best one ot there, but thats all I could afford at the moment. My new laptop is a Acer Aspire 5610-4534 with Intel Core Duo 1.73GHz 1GB DDR2 Ram 160GB HDD Win Vista Home Premium. What's the difference between Core 2 Duo & Core Duo? Are the both duel processors? Ya were taxed to death here. I just hate it cause I 'm getting a refund and there taking there sweet a$$ time! I phone the tax office to see what was taking so long and they gave so many excuses, so I replyed back and said "When we owe you money you want it paid back A.S.A.P, BUT you owe us that we can dam well wait eh!!!!!"
