  1. Been a long time since I have been on this forum. I hope everyone is doing well.
  2. I got it to update I am still having issues with desktop drapes does anyone here use it?
  3. Tried that still wont update. Tried different servers still no joy /Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal"
  4. I have been trying for 2 days but when I try to update I keep getting "Failed to download repository information" and "W:Failed to fetch 404 Not Found , W:Failed to fetch 404 Not Found , E:Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead." In the update manager. Any thoughts?
  5. Good to hear that 11.04 is a good release! Slackware 13.37 was released on Wednesday. I'm also enjoying my upgrade. Very good indeed:) I cant get any wallpaper manager to work When i try to start desktop drapes in the terminal I get this: [email protected]:~$ drapes Exception in Gtk# callback delegate Note: Applications can use GLib.ExceptionManager.UnhandledException to handle the exception. System.DllNotFoundException: at (wrapper managed-to-native) Egg.TrayIcon:XInternAtom (intptr, string, bool) at Egg.TrayIcon.OnRealized () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 a
  6. Updated to ubuntu 11.04 so far I like it bt for some reason my desktop drapes wont work. I will keep piddling see what I can do
  7. I have found and downloaded the driver for my lexmark x3650 from the lexmark site. I can start the install ok other than it comes to a point asking for administrative password. So I put my password in so it can access the root but it keeps saying incorrect password. I know it is right. I went into recovery and redid my password but the same thing keeps coming up. I got it, I had to re-set root password via terminal "sudo passwd root" for some reason when I did it in recovery it didnt work.
  8. Sure, it will work fine. If everything is working fine I would probably leave well enough alone. Maybe do a clean install of 11.x when it comes out. If it ain't broke...
  9. Thanks I will consider that. Another option could be to compile your own kernel, but, I've never attempted compiling kernels for Ubuntu. Will it work fine with the older kernel? So far is has been maybe I should leave it alone.
  10. I upgraded from 9.xx, my grub loader shows the package generic. It wont load with that. I can load with the next one down Should I just live with that or should I download the iso of the new ubuntu 10.10? Would that solve my problem? Thanks in advance Michael
  11. [quote So I doubt it is a country code issue. Looks to work well for me here in Texas. Are you using a proxy server to do torrents or P2P or do you have that stupid thing that fools using P2P and Torrents to steal music think hides them from the RIAA?
  12. I am always getting this "We're sorry but this video is unavailable in your region. " on not sure why.
  13. Sorry didnt get back to this it started working again by itself.
  14. It was working fine but for some reason no it is not showing anything in the contacts box just blank white, would it be worthwhile to remove it then install it? EDIT: I tried that no joy kinda odd. was working fine.
