My computer recently crashed and I had to install XP home, previously had Media Center edition. I think that I lost / misplaced the reinstall disk for media center edition. Not really a big deal, just needed the pc back up and running.
However, now that I don't have media center, and have a tv tuner card, how do I watch / record tv on the pc. Am I out of luck?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

I do. In the meantime, I inadvertantly did an OS reinstall instead of a repair. Woo Hoo. I have a whole new set of issues now. Hopefully I can get everything installed and working.

To further compound the issue, I ran the sfc check and it came back that I have missing files. It is asking me to insert the Windows XP Pro disk 2. I have XP Home Media Center, not Pro. Every disk I put in is being rejected as the wrong disk.

I did a system restore on my PC. I rolled it back 3 days, and now Java doesn't work. Java links don't respond on IE7, and when I try to bring up System Restore again, it comes up as a blank page.
I ran malware bytes to see if it could detect any malware, it seemed to come back clean. I also ran the microsoft scan and it came back clean.
I Can't run Kapersky, because it won't respond to clicking on the link. I also tried reinstalling Java, but that did not have any effect on the issue.
I am truly at a loss here.
Hope you can help.
Thanks.

Thanks for all of the advice. I took the PC to a local computer shop who restored / reloaded the OS for me.
I am now using XP Home edition, couldn't find the XP Media Center disk, so, he used what I had. (I actually thought that it was the right disk, but obviously not.)
Only issue now is I can't figure out how to ge the PC to recognize the TV tuner card and watch tv on the PC, but that is the least of my worries at this point.
