  1. When I reboot, or if the pc has been off and I start it, there is nothing on the desktop. I do the "control-alt-delete", go into "user" and logoff that way. After 2 or 3 times, I get everything back. I always know when it's gonna happen, cause it takes 2-3 full minutes to go from the scrolling bar Win XP screen to the Welcome screen. It stays grey in between.

    Ideas?

  2. It never drops the connection, but there are sites I can't even play on. Like Pokerstars (hubby). You go there, and you lag so bad, it kicks you out. If I hook it up to straight cable, it's fine. I'm really starting to think this router is just not "powerful" enough. I have other Belkin products that work fine, but this is just too slow. It takes forever to change pages from one site to another. I usually have to hit stop and reload, then it's ok.

I'm also having another problem with this pc that is unrelated to that, but I will start another thread. (I swear this thing is gonna drive me nuts).....

  3. I did a search, and couldn't find anything. Anyway, I have the router hooked up, card in the other PC, and all is working-except printer sharing. I turned it on in both PC's, but when I type the name in, it tells me it can't find it.

Is there a way to start over from the beginning, so I can do this right? (Steps would help).

    TIA!

  4. It is "Simply Money", and it says it is XP compatible. I got it from someone that has a brand new laptop, also XP Home, and it works fine. This is the message window I get when I try to install it:

    16 Bit Windows Subsystem

C:\Windows/Systems32\Autoexec.nt The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose close to terminate.

    Close Ignore

I hit ignore, it still doesn't do anything. So, why does it work on his XP Home, and not mine?
