  1. A Florida senior citizen drove his brand new Corvette convertible out of the dealership.

Taking off down the road, he floored it to 80 mph, enjoying the wind blowing through what little hair he had left.

"Amazing," he thought as he flew down I-75, pushing the pedal even more. Looking in his rear view mirror, he saw the highway patrol behind him, blue lights flashing and siren blaring.

He floored it to 100 mph, then 110, then 120. Suddenly he thought, "What am I doing? I'm too old for this," and pulled over to await the Trooper's arrival.

Pulling in behind him, the Trooper walked up to the Corvette, looked at his watch and said,

"Sir, my shift ends in 30 minutes. Today is Friday. If you can give me a reason for speeding that I've never heard before, I'll let you go."

    The old gentleman paused.

Then he said, "Years ago, my wife ran off with a Florida State Trooper. I thought you were bringing her back."

"Have a good day, Sir," replied the Trooper.

  2. Hi Joe,

You said you were fine on memory, but does your Mom's comp have 1 gig of memory? You will need at least that much to play COD2 and Nick to play FEAR.

By the way, you are set for a ride with Coach tomorrow, get your stuff out of Mom's car tonight! Sorry I have to work! :(

  3. THANK YOU ALL! I must admit, I never would have found your B-day wishes, if not for my son Joe (jamaicaman) finding it. I don't think I've ever been in "Open chat" before  .

Anyway, it was a very nice day and I got to enjoy it over again when Joe found this thread.

Take care all and I wish all of you a happy day when it's your turn!:)

  4. With Firefox, Opera or other similar browsers you need to clear your browser cache to see your new avater right away. What happens is your old avatar is stored in the cache and until the browser is refreshed mutiple times it still appears. This happens with PMs at that other board.

    Terrorist,

Thanks for the info. When I saw Joe's post, I tried changing my avatar too, to see if I could figure out the problem. I had the same problem as Joe; I was using Mozila and the avatar did not change when uploading from my computer. I made the change through photobucket and then showed Joe how to do it from there. With your info, we shouldn't need to use photobucket the next time he, or I, want a change. I'll just have to show him how to clear the cache :) !

    Take care,

    Dave

  5. Hi Nancy,

I was going to suggest walmart, find it HERE, but BubbuBobs suggestion is much cheaper. If you aren't concerned that AllofMp3.com is based in Russia (I checked them out, thought $0.02 per MB was great price) then go for it.

Walmart's songs are $0.88 per song with no subscription needed. If you don't trust paying over the internet, you can go to a walmart store and buy a numbered card there. When you go to the site, just enter the number and you're on your way!

    Hope this helps :D ,

    Dave

PS. I checked Yahoo music for you, looks like a $5.00 fee per month. I don't know if they also charge per song though, sorry.

  6. I'm looking for an audio converter, and well i know i could search google for one and get 9,450,000 hits, but im not searching through all of them. When i know a good handful of you people here have one that you like a lot.

I'm trying to find one that is fast and converts at least mp3 > ogg

hopefully someone knows of a good one, im tired of using ones that takes 30 mins to convert a 3min song.

    thanks :)

I don't know if it's better than Audacity (I just use Audacity to record), but dBpower AMP is very good. You can find it HERE.

    Hope this helps :D ,

    Dave

  7. Hi All,

Does anyone know when the "Arcade" will up and running again? Or if it will be?

I do hope so, I'm having "Zoo Keeper" withdrawal

I know "B" said it would be back, it would just take some time, I was just wondering.

Anyway, take care all and thanks in advance for any info,

    Dave

    Hi trevtech,

I'm no expert and I usually don't use IE (Mozilla for me), but it could be that some "baddies" have infected your IE and start up with it. Check HERE for some things to do to clean out possible spy/adware.

I would also add a-squared to the list to look for and get rid of malware, find it HERE.

Also, Stinger from Mcafee for viruses, find it HERE.

Also, check out this POST for some on-line scanners, which may find things that Ad-aware and Spybot might miss.

    Hope this helps :) ,

    Dave

  9. Thanks Marty for bringing this up and thanks to you Chappy for the info :D.

I have a 110 GB HD and don't know what the %'age is set to, but if 12% is defualt, there are probably hundreds of useless restore points on it. :( ,

I will reset to Chappy's suggested 3% sometime this weekend,

    Thanks again!
