Anything less than that isn't worth the money, this system with duel channel LL 2x 1GB, a duel core 3800+ x2, a great value for a video card, quality motherboard and a real good PSU makes a great system.
Will play new games flawlessly on pretty high settings for a while.

You get the best OC out of PC3700 and PC3500 RAM, but other then that it isn't nessisary. 2x 1GB in duel channel is the best option for gaming right now, or 2x 512MB in duel channel. You don't want to fill all of your DIMM slots, it will decrease your performance. Patriot or OCZ provide the most stable and some of the best 2x 1GB Duel channel kits right now, and upgrading from DDR333 to DDR400 is a good upgrade.

Isn't SFTP port 990?

A good 450W should work well. Active PSC is very good to have.

Is it 2x 128MB? If it is then take one stick out and see what happens. If you get the BSOD, then take the stick out and put it in the other slot. If you still get it, use the first stick and put it in the second slot. If you get it again, take the second stick and put it in the first slot. That should narrow down your memory problems.
