bagpipes23hh2.jpg

any one who has scottish blood will relate to this

the bagpipes are are a common theme

parades -war parades- fairs -xmas you name it they are a part of our

heritage.

when i was a kid i used to put my fingers in my ears

to block out the whee whee whee

like all children did then

but now ive grown up ive learned they are a part of a culture

and need to be preserved

when i played in a band i had a friend

who used to play the pipes in a jazz form.

strangly he couldnt play any other instrument.

but he didnt need to he was good on the dam things.

yes liz he said it is enough,

learning the pipes

with out another instrument.

so we use to feature him on pay nights for the masses ,

and it was popular.

and we payed him well because on the nights he played

it was packed.

i was younger then and didnt appreciate

the quality of those pipes until now.

as robroy pointed out the instrument,

it is much more verstile then we realise,

since then ive heard popmusic- classics

reels jigs-and i also so heard,

a couple who was featured on a show of Billy Conolley.

with using the the pipes as a background to a singer,

that was fantastic,

if you play- guitar- piano-or any blow instrument

that is hard enough.
