hi team i need your advice in the area where i live we will soon have the opertunity to have broadband.

the company introducing it xtra.is a telecomunicatios outlet .

now the ISP i work through will be getting a package deal fron xtra.

BUT the broadband modem we will have to buy.

i can get the cheapest one for $97

but here is the trick i can get a cheaper one from xtra.but i have to join their.

internet band .and of course the telephone .

im not familiar with broadband.or the broadband modem

so if any one on the board caould give me any info i would appreciate it

DSL Reports

Here's a good web site that may give you some insights into broadband. The site also has reviews of different broadband ISPs.

There are two types you can get DSL and Cable broadband. Both have their advantages and dis-advantages. I use DSL and like it a lot.

What ever type of broadband you get it will be a lot faster than what you have with dial-up. I would go for it. I could never go back to dial-up.

.and of course the telephone .

This may or may-not be important to you BUT ,SOME, voip telephone service will not tell 911 operators your address and info. If important, you may want to check it out.

Your phone company MAY break the install/modem payments over 2-3 payments?.
