martymas Posted November 17, 2004 Report Share Posted November 17, 2004 hi team i need your advice in the area where i live we will soon have the opertunity to have broadband.the company introducing it xtra.is a telecomunicatios outlet .now the ISP i work through will be getting a package deal fron xtra.BUT the broadband modem we will have to buy. i can get the cheapest one for $97but here is the trick i can get a cheaper one from xtra.but i have to join their.internet band .and of course the telephone .im not familiar with broadband.or the broadband modem so if any one on the board caould give me any info i would appreciate it marty Quote Link to post Share on other sites

The site also has reviews of different broadband ISPs.There are two types you can get DSL and Cable broadband. Both have their advantages and dis-advantages. I use DSL and like it a lot.What ever type of broadband you get it will be a lot faster than what you have with dial-up. I would go for it. I could never go back to dial-up.
