Somewhere along the lines of installing Ubuntu I messed up - when it attempts to run the OS my screen turns to garbage of lines/static and such.

I want to uninstall Ubuntu - BUT I HAVE TO MAKE SURE IT DOESN'T AFFECT WINDOWS!

Just making sure that the obvious solution - reformatting the Linux partition - won't jack anything up, thanks!

it should not mess anything up. As soon as you delete ubuntu, you will not have any way to boot windows. You will have to run "fixmbr" from the recovery console to make windows bootable.

I deleted and ran fixmbr - to no avail

Ended up just having to repair windows (first i had to reinstall linux just to access windows)
