deaf_girl
I don't know about Word but this is a good program for start up. It lets you stop unnessary programs from loadingCodestuff Starter
JDoors
For Word; faster hard drive, more memory. For startup; (As previously suggested) Use a startup utility to ensure that nothing's starting you don't want or need, faster hard drive, more memory. Also; Turn down your display resolution & color depth, if it's higher than necessary for the work you do. What's the default document that Word opens with? What are your hardware specs? rhema7
how many fonts do you have installed? word loads ever blasted font you have on your system into memory when you start it. My suggestion is to get a good font manager and turn off the un-needed fonts you have installed. This can be tricky you must first determine what fonts other application use for display so as not to turn them off. This may speed things up a bit.Preston
