Sir_Siddy
Im having bad luck with installing Linux on my PC still. Some messy driver issues. Well anyway I am going to get a Laptop soon. I was wondering if there were any you would like to avoid because of compatibility issues with linux?
Carnevil
Check these out http://www.linuxcertified.com/linux_laptops.html, you could also go with (IBM)Lenovo.

shanenin
If you do not mind spending some money, I think think pads have a good reputation. Any thing wiht a centrino chipset seems well supported. I just purchased a 500 toshiba satallite, it works well. The only thing that does not seem to work is the battery leval indicated. I think any big brand should have good support.
