hitest Posted February 9, 2006 Report Share Posted February 9, 2006 (edited) In Linux sound is usually controlled by alsa............perhaps you turned off that service.Edit: added later-------->Click on system-------------->preferences--------------------->sound and see if your sound card is identified. shanenin Posted February 10, 2006 Report Share Posted February 10, 2006 you can also start a service like this. /etc/init.d/hotplug startor the ubuntu waysudo /etc/init.d/hotplug startafter starting hotplug, you may want to restart alsa/etc/init.d/alsa restartor a reboot will work :-) Quote Link to post Share on other sites
