Thats my problem, i dont trust myself :(

*when it comes to computers...

Ok so here is how its set up

Main HD: IDE1 Primary

2nd HD: IDE1 2ndary

CD Writer: IDE1 Primary

DVD: IDE2 2ndary

( The writer and DVD may be flipped i cant remember)...

Well I "initialized" the new drive through Device manager. It is showing up as unallocated. So do i have for Partition it in order for it to show up on My computer so i can start using it?

If so what do you guys reccomend

Partition through Windows or using Partion Magic 8 ?

If partitioning is why its not showing up under My computer

I believe that you don't have to partition it but you will have to format it.

As to FAT32 or NTFS formatting, that will depend on what OS you are running and what you intend to do with it.

I have a second drive that I installed Linux on a 20 Gig partition that I DIDN'T format because Linux will take care of that for you. I also formatted a 10 Gig partition to FAT32 so WindowsXP and Linux could BOTH write to that partition and then share files. I formatted the rest of the dirve to NTFS so I could use it for backup and extra space for XP
