rhema7
I want to install Beos on a old IBM Thinkpad 380XD laptop.Specs are:No OS96mb RAM5Gig HD266mhzThis was top of the line in it's day (not many 96MB RAM win95 machine that I have found plus it has a 6gig removable HD)The keyboard does not work well particularly the ESC and the G keywill not work. It is pretty clean so I'm thinking contact is not a problem. If it is a driver issue how would I install them because they would need to be BIOS level. It will boot from CD. I guess my question is do you think a BIOS update will help bring functionality back to the Keyboard?Preston
rhema7
did a BIOS update and finnally got Ubuntu installed but G and ESC still not working I'm Thinking it is the keybord maybe I can try a external Keyboard.
xxkbxx
In the past I've fixed messed up key issues by removing the screws at the bottom of the laptop and removing the keyboard, then re-securing its connection. That may solve your problem if you haven't already done so
