martymas Posted September 12, 2005 Report Share Posted September 12, 2005 (edited) hi team im trying to speed up my startup.and so far ive tweaked it as far as i can .now my Q. at start up my compt goes through a memory testand this takes quite some time .am i able to stop this test with out compromising my compt.ive looked in the bios .and i cant find a fix. my bios is an Award bios modular v6.00PGif that is any helpor do i have to live with iTii can turn it off by pressing esc.but ide prefer it turned before start up .jsky had a tweak for start up and ive used it but this memory thing has me stumptedmarty Edited September 12, 2005 by martymas Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I also have an AWARD BIOS and I'm pretty sure I disabled the mem-test via the BIOS 'cause I haven't seen it do that in years. Unless I'm confusing it with some Windows startup setting (which I doubt).<edit> Yup, it's a BIOS setting. martymas Posted September 14, 2005 Author Report Share Posted September 14, 2005 hi team ive just got back to the thread and ive been to the bios a dozen times and i cant find that setting .to disable the mem test i probably will have to use the esc to stop it .unless i can find a way to disable it .ive been to the manual website but it says nothing about the mem testing ive posted on 2-3 boards .and pete_c has posted so im off to read his answer.if any of you guys find an answer please help marty Quote Link to post Share on other sites

martymas Posted September 14, 2005 Author Report Share Posted September 14, 2005 hi team at last ive got it right ive disabled the startup mem test which ive tried to do for 4 days it was a matter of reading the language from this mobo .how ever if any one has the same mobo and bios settings as mine this is how i disabled it biosadvanced bios featurescrol to quick power self test using the up and down keys i set it to fast .and it now boots with out the mem test .I HOPEyes it is fixed thanks marty Quote Link to post Share on other sites
