Thanks for the links too, though am watching so much of it on tv, that I seem to just keep on crying for all the people.

Just found out when hubby got home tonight that Intel is matching employee "Katrina Relief" donations to Red Cross (and other relief efforts) plus is donating a million dollars in addition to matching funds. So our check will be matched now. At least with that donation, I feel like we did a little something to help people.

It's kind of scary how fast our society breaks down when you take away the technology......I send some $$ to The Red Cross, I don't know if this is the best organization but I am afraid the scam sites are popping up.....

i went to a meeting tonight

about help for the katrina victims

and it seems in the past, the americain gov

has refused outside help from

foreign govs.

in disasters

this was relayed by the gov rep at the meeting.

this time all the agencys have

asked our gov to relay to the bush admin

to pledge help with money aid expertise .

and the bush admin has excepted

that pledge

so we will have collectors on the streets from tomorrow

and our gov will subsidise. [the gov has already offered 20.million in aid]

10 to 1 what ever we collect .

im not sure why usa govs has refused aid in the past

i wonder why that is.

im amazed at the state of affairs .

probably being a country of privitisation

they would rather do it them selves .

and get the profits from the rebuilding

im actually flabegasted.
