WE'RE SORRY we missed this proposed US class action settlement earlier this year, but many of our readers may have done so as well.

The class action alleged Abit sold motherboards with a defective capacitor, a fact that the firm denies, and continues to deny. Abit USA is still mounting a defence against certain claims made.

However, as part of the class litigation, Abit has undertaken to replace capacitors on a large number of models for those eligible and who submit a claim form to have their motherboards repaired.

The claim form has to be received before the 15th of February 2006, and applies to mobos including the BE6, BE6II, BF6, BX-133, KA7, KA7-100, SE6, VH6, VH6II, VH6T, VP6, KT7-RAID, KT7A, KT7A-RAID, VL6, VT6X4, SA6R, AND BX133-RAID.

The settlement does not apply to resellers. There was a fairness hearing scheduled for the 1st of June last, but we can't find the result of that at press time.

Looks like there is a claim form to DL off the article..So i'll give a link !
