oneleggedjockey
hi, I've been having adware problems lately, and my computer was hijacked once. I'm using Adaware and SpySubtract; they do a good job, but don't seem to clean my computer the way it should be cleaned. This is the first time I'm using Hijack This, and I need help with what files I need to delete. I'm a complete computer illiterate, so help?Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1Scan saved at 9:57:49 PM, on 6/23/2005Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600)MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106)Running processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exec:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSetMgr.exec:\Program Files\Norton Personal Firewall\NISUM.EXEc:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccEvtMgr.exeC:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXEC:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exeC:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exeC:\WINDOWS\ALCXMNTR.EXEC:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware\gcasServ.exec:\Program Files\Norton Personal Firewall\ccPxySvc.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\KodakCCS.exec:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\navapsvc.exeC:\Program Files\Tlen.pl\tlen.exeC:\PROGRA~1\AIM\aim.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\nvsvc32.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\ctfmon.exeC:\Program Files\Messenger\MSMSGS.EXEC:\Program Files\interMute\SpySubtract\SpySub.exeC:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware\gcasDtServ.exeC:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\wuauclt.exeC:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download\S-1-5-18\2cf41f1db14bc8f414e16e1555b77108\update\update.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\wuauclt.exeC:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Directory 2 for hijackthis.zip\HijackThis.exeR1 - Excal
Hi and welcome to Best Techie! My name is Excal and I will be helping you.I can see that you have some malware issues. This maybe a few step process in removing it. I encourage you to stick with it and follow my directions as closely as possible so as to avoid complicating the problem further. Before you do anything else, please create a folder for HijackThis and put it in a permanent folder (like C:\HJT) instead of the Temp folder. This is required because HijackThis will create backups and we don't want them to be deletedDOWNLOAD PROGRAMSDownload and install CleanUp! Here*NOTE* Cleanup deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders and does not make backups. We will use this program later.THE FIXPlease read this post completely, it may make it easier for you if you copy and paste this post to a new text document or print it for reference later.1. Click this link to be sure you can view hidden files.2. Ensure you are NOT connected to the internet.3. Reboot into safe mode.Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.4. Close all browsers, windows and unneeded programs.5. Open HiJack and do a scan.6. Put a Check next to the following items: O2 - BHO: WinStat - {EE02B99B-1D55-48bc-B8DB-649A42CE45F6} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat12.dllO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [yglof] C:\WINDOWS\System32\yglof.exeO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXEO15 - Trusted Zone: http://www.neededware.com7. click the Fix Checked box8. Please remove just the files from the following paths using Windows Explorer (if present):C:\WINDOWS\System32\yglof.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat12.dll9. Run the program CleanUp!10. Reboot into normal mode and please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan - Save the results from the scan!11. Please post the Active scan log and a fresh HiJackThis log. Let me know how your computer is running.
