Peaches
Apple releases Mac OS X 10.6.5 update Apple has released Mac OS X 10.6.5, a major update that improves the operating system's stability, compatibility and security. In addition to other changes, the update addresses more than 100 security holes, some of which can be exploited to hijack a user's system. According to Apple, it's sufficient, in many cases, to simply visit a specially crafted web site. In addition to plugging a number of holes in the operating system itself, the update includes a number of updated packages and plug-ins, such as Adobe's Flash Player plug-in – the Flash update, version 10.1.102.64, addresses a total of 55 security vulnerabilities. The update also corrects several security issues in Mac OS X, including, for example, problems with the CUPS printing service, ImageIO, the Mac OS X Kernel, AppKit, Apache, CoreGraphics, CoreText, MySQL, OpenSSL, PHP, Python, QuickTime and X11. A full list of changes and security updates can be found in the advisories below.
