Peaches
Android 2.2 for Galaxy S Rolling Out Now in the UK It looks like Galaxy S owners in the UK are finally receiving their Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade, after many months of waiting. The Korean manufacturer has previously announced that the upgrade will be available for UK users of the Galaxy S sometime in November. We've been tipped by a reader that the long awaited Android 2.2 upgrade is now available in the UK as a legitimate download through the latest version of the Samsung Kies software. Our tipster say he has been running the latest Android flavor for more than two hours without any problems. Software version after the upgrade is “Baseband version I9000JPP”, “Build number: FROYO.XXJPO”.Users that do not have the latest version of the Samsung Kies software are required to update to 1.5.3.10103_100 before doing the update. The upgrade will preserve all installed applications and settings, so there's no need for backup.
