Opera 10.6 integrates AVG's Web Threat Data Feed

Opera 10.6 adds a new Geolocation API. Opera has finalised version 10.60 of its web browser. Thanks to the new Presto 2.6 rendering engine, the new version is now noticeably faster than its predecessor. Anti-virus vendor AVG's Web Threat Data Feed has been integrated to improve the protection of users against online threats. The browser's new security features include exploit signatures for sites which deploy drive-by downloads, lists of generally dangerous domains and URLs and a context analysis that, according to AVG, can be used to detect viral attacks which spread via social networks.

The new Geolocation API allows Opera 10.60 to retrieve a user's location. For this feature, which was already introduced with the beta version, Opera has made a separate demo available online.
