Peaches Posted October 2, 2009 Report Share Posted October 2, 2009 1 October 2009, Astaro Security Gateway 7.5 released Security specialist Astaro has announced the availability of version 7.500 of its Unified Threat Management (UTM) product line, the Astaro Security Gateway. According to Astaro, the latest major point-release includes over 700 changes and more than 50 new features. Astaro Gateway 7.500 features a new Intrusion Protection Engine for improved scaling with multi-core systems, a Real-Time Bandwidth Monitor including Dashboard improvements and a transparent HTTP proxy mode with captive authentication portal. In addition to being able to clone objects for quick re-use, users now have the ability to import and export various lists using the new Import/Export Widget. Other improvements include updates to Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) configuration, the addition of reputation support for web security and extended network security reporting. Astaro Gateway 7.500 is available to download and requires at least a 1.8 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM and 12 GB of hard disk space. Astaro's user community can be found at astaro.org.
