A vulnerability has been reported in Google Chrome, which can be exploited by malicious people to potentially compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing regular expressions in JavaScript and can be exploited to corrupt memory and potentially cause a heap-based buffer overflow.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

NOTE: An additional error can be exploited to potentially bypass the Google Chrome sandbox by allocating large amounts of memory.

The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 2.0.172.37.
