JSKY
Has anyone heard of this place before or had any dealings with them? They have sent me an e-mail about my website and telling me they have an offer to make. This as part of it. "We have a non-competing product that would work extremely well with your audience. Can I have 5 minutes of your time todiscuss it? My name is Jay with Adreporting.com"So.... Does anyone have a comment of this? Anything I should Know.I kinda liked keeping my site fairly clean from ads, but I know I could make a little money by adding some.So I need some input on this. Thanks JSKY

Anything I should Know.I kinda liked keeping my site fairly clean from ads, but I know I could make a little money by adding some.So I need some input on this. Thanks JSKYI Googled the name Adreporting, and there were over 58,000 pages. From glancing through the first page, I noticed that they lock up 100% of the adspace available. So that is probably the noncompetive part.First thought on this..."is this the website equivalent of the "housewives get rich by stuffing envelopes at home" scheme? Now to some questions to think about. Will you have a choice of ad types, and will you be able to reject types you don't want such as porn, gambling or whatever type you don't want? Will they give you the right to object to an ad, and then remove it from your site if you request it?Will the ads and their links be spyware, virus, trojan, and worm free? guaranteed? Will the ads have tracker cookies when site visitor hovers, or clicks on ad? An ok tracker or real bad spyware type? The name is Adreporting...so where does the report thing come in? Sounds more like a visitor's computer ad tracker to me.What basis will you be paid on: ad space used, number of ads clicked on, or length of time ads are on your site, or ?How will you be paid: by Paypal account as probably safest, or by check mailed to your home or P.O. box, or you giving out your bank account number for deposits, and Social Security number for IRS reporting of income paid to you? Do you trust an unknown company enough to give the information they will need? Will you be absolved from any liability issues arising from anything bought or sold or from any security issues with these ads or their links. You probably don't want to take on any legal responsibility for any of the ad stuff. How do you know the unsolicited email you received really is from someone connected to that company?I think I saw something on that Google search that said the parent company (whose name I forgot to write down), was in Washington State, so I would contact the Attorney General of Wa. to find out if parent company or offspring has had any problem complaints. And perhaps the Better Business Bureau too.In rereading this, I think I am: a. cynical, b. suspicious, c. paranoid, d. all of the above. It comes with age and experience, (we have a degree or two from the real world school of hard knocks).Just some thoughts I had when I read your post, I hope they give you some food for thought. God bless everyone.
JSKY
Thanks thesidekickcat.I thought of about half of what you explained, never realized the other half. And the more I thought of it. The less I liked the idea of a bunch of ads on my site.I'm not sure, but I think that is one of the reasons it's still kinda a popular place. Not saying I'm not open to ads. I mean with ones for Firefox and all the links to removial tools and protective services. But they were all my choice to add or remove. Thanks to everyone for their input.JSKY
