"Nitin and Vipin Kumar of NV labs have now expanded their VBootkit that manipulated the Vista boot process to work on Windows 7. It allows unsigned code to gain access to the kernel: Vbootkit 2.0.

CNET News has published an interview detailing the experience of an FBI agent who was undercover for two years in order to gain access to the "digital underground": FBI agent looks back on time posing as a cybercriminal.

McAfee has published a report about online threats for the first quarter of 2009. According to the report, legitimate websites are increasingly being used to spread malware: McAfee Threats Report: First Quarter 2009.

Symantec has released it's Spam Statistics for April and part of May: May 2009 State of Spam Report Released: Spam Pandemic Continues.

Microsoft has updated some of its Sysinternals tools. Autoruns v9.5 now also displays audio and video codec information, which are increasingly playing a bigger role in infections: Sysinternals Updates 3 Applications."
