to be able to install ubuntu8.10

ok it will install but once i close the comp down

i cant boot back into ubuntu or vista

while it is going

every thing works great

but rebooting is the problem

i thought maybe the boot setting in the bios

i have a feeling

vista is the problem

because i have no problems

ok i can boot into both now

it seems the problem was the time zone factor

time showing in ubuntu was 12 hrs ahead of the time in vista

here in nz we are 12 hrs ahead in some zones then northen hemiphere

and because ime not very good at arithmatic

it was 8 hrs before i got the both times right with our time zone

once i estabilish that the dam thing went like a charm

and is still going

this ubuntu 8.10 isnt to bad

a bit new for a mug like me

but i like it

i have to keep vista

as i have to get my moneys worth

but sooner or later ile switch to ubuntu

some thing worth noting

with ubuntu i can go online before i install the files

but with vista you cant do that until the install is finished
