hi team i need your help

i cant get ubuntu sound to work

i presume i need to install a package from

package archive

there is nothing wrong with the speakers

as xp

has sound through them

nor the connection

when i first installed ubuntu

was was getting test beeps

from the sound

option

but i cannot get sound any more

ive installed the alsa

player

but no sound

i have a feeling it is driver trouble

so far ive used ubuntu with out sound

but now i need to try and utilise the sys a bit more
