Malware Problem?

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if this is the right place so sorry if it isn't.

I continue to get these following errors:

Microsoft Windows

Close Programs to Prevent Information loss.

Your computer is low on memory. Save your files and close these programs:

Windows Live Messenger

Firefox

Desktop Window Manager

Windows will only close enough programs to restore needed memory.

Followed by:

ACER.EMPOWERING.FRAMEWORK.SUPERVISOR.EXE - No debugger found.

No registered JIT debugger was specified.

Click on Retry to have the process wait while attaching a debugger manually.

My computer then resets itself. It does this at the moment every hour or so.

The physical memory is way higher than it should be, and I can only guess that it's a virus. I did initially panic when this happened as I was desperate to get some work in, so I did idiotically try fixing it myself.

It now doesn't recognise CD's very well and seems to be slowing down.

Hi,

Nasty problem you have there, we'll clean everything up and fix this problem.

We'll start with a virus scan and an anti Malware scan. :)

  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

Can you remember a time and date it last happened?

Click start then run and type compmgmt.msc

under System tools, look for Event Veiwer.

There are several logs, go into the logs and look for an event error or warning at the time it last happened.

Tell me what it says.

:)
