irregularjoe
My S.O.-in-laws live out of state part of the year and are always having computer issues that they ask me to fix. Does Vista Home Premium come with Remote access enabled. If so, could it be administered from my XP Home set up?Thanks,Joe
shanenin
I don't believe it does based on this. You could use the free version of logmein.
Falcon1986
I found this over at Lifehacker.com some time ago.
irregularjoe
Thanks for the info. I'll check it out.Problem is that it has to be very easy to turn on and off on their end. Email is still a challenge for them. I've heard about "Go To My PC" also. Any thoughts on that? Thanks,Joe
shanenin
The free version of logmein is very similar to gotomypc. It does not have some of the features like remote printing and transferring files. For simple remote control it works just like remote desktop does. You can turn it on and off by simply r-clicking the icon in the system tray and choosing "enable" or "disable".
Falcon1986
I too have grown to love LogMeIn Free. It works great! However, after reading about the free CrossLoop, I could not believe how simple the application is to get running. The HowToGeek has information on how you can get it set up. It is as simple as installing and exchanging access codes.
