vkwd7
I develop web sites.I use 3 browsers.ie7,Firefox,sea monkey to test sites. yesterday all was fine. suddenly today the ie7 stopped opening any page.I tried Firefox. it also did not open the page.Since this problem started after I loaded u torrent and updated sea monkey, I uninstalled both the softwares thinking it may help browsing with ie7.It didn't. now as i was without any browser to surf,I opened windows live mail and through that I was able to use a link and could go to a site through ie7.ie7 also opens pages located on the hard drive.but it does not open the internet. Then I reinstalled sea monkey to contact you and it has worked successfully.and when I clicked the link to activate my account with you Ie7 opened and I could use it for some links on your site but it still does not open yahoo/g mail/etc.so is it with Firefox.where I have messed I cannot figure out? It is very urgent for me to test some sites on the internet. Please help.I fail to understand what is blocking the opening of the sites by both the browsers? If I remember correctly u torrent used some port 8.... something .is that the problem ? I am in a fix!further I opened panda for online scanning. It said it need s IE7 or Firefox.both don't work on my system which is win xp sp2 .However I clicked through the activation email and Ie7 opened the panda site and I am able to download active scan but the problem persists and scanning may take some hours. thereafte the panda hanged and did not scan a single file after doing 18%.there after I restored the settings to previous date and on reboot both the browsers worked and loaded pages for about some time and thereafter all of a sudden they (all the 3 including sea monkey)stopped loading pages. And then I was without any browser for surfing the web.then I ran set up for sea monkey from my hard disk. While installing it gave a message that the previous version has 3rd party soft ware it will uninstall that without any compatibility issues.and it has again stated working. But ie7 and firefox are not.I am stuck up .please help .I have not to format the disk..and even if I do that I must know how to locate and prevent such mishaps.Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1Scan saved at 4:23:16 PM, on 7/24/2008Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.5730.0013)Running processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXEC:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exeC:\Documents and Settings\VKWD\My Documents\hijackthis\hijackthis_sfx\HijackThis.exeR0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = O3 - Toolbar: Windows Live Toolbar - {BDAD1DAD-C946-4A17-ADC1-64B5B4FF55D0} - C:\Program Files\Windows Live Toolbar\msntb.dllO3 - Toolbar: Trellian &Toolbar - {71AAABE5-1F0F-11d7-BD6F-004854603DCE} - C:\Program Files\TRELLIAN\Toolbar\toolbar.dllO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [avast!] C:\PROGRA~1\ALWILS~1\Avast4\ashDisp.exeO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [bMeb24c68a] Rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\badwgyrm.dll",sO4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ctfmon.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exeO4 - HKCU\..\RunOnce: [NeroHomeFirstStart] C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\NMFirstStart.exeO4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = F:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXEO4 - Global Startup: HP Digital Imaging Monitor.lnk = C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqtra08.exeO4 - Global Startup: Scheduler.lnk = C:\Program Files\Prolink\PlayTV Pro\TVSCHL.EXEO4 - Global Startup: Adobe Gamma Loader.lnk = C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Calibration\Adobe Gamma Loader.exeO4 - Global Startup: Scheduler for OEM.lnk = C:\Program Files\honestech\honestech TVR\scheduleTV.exeO8 - Extra context menu item: E&xport to Microsoft Excel - res://F:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~1\Office10\EXCEL.EXE/3000O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin\npjpi160_03.dllO9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Sun Java Console - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin\npjpi160_03.dllO9 - Extra button: Blog This - {219C3416-8CB2-491a-A3C7-D9FCDDC9D600} - C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Writer\WriterBrowserExtension.dllO9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: &Blog This in Windows Live Writer - {219C3416-8CB2-491a-A3C7-D9FCDDC9D600} - C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Writer\WriterBrowserExtension.dllO9 - Extra button: Run WinHTTrack - {36ECAF82-3300-8F84-092E-AFF36D6C7040} - C:\Program Files\WinHTTrack\WinHTTrackIEBar.dllO9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Launch WinHTTrack - {36ECAF82-3300-8F84-092E-AFF36D6C7040} - C:\Program Files\WinHTTrack\WinHTTrackIEBar.dllO9 - Extra button: Yahoo! Andro1d
Hello and Welcome to the forums. I am MoNsTeReNeRgY22 and I will be assisting you with your malware problem today. I need you to rename Hijackthis because I suspect that you may have the Vundo infection that can hide some entries in your log. Please go to the folder where you saved Hijackthis.exe:< C:\Documents and Settings\VKWD\My Documents\hijackthis\hijackthis_sfx\HijackThis.exe >Right-click on it, then select Rename. Please rename it to energy.exeThen double-click energy.exe to scan and then post the new logfile.
