scottgass81
I am running Windows Vista and have run into a few problems. When I open up IE, i can get to google, but I can't search. Multiple IE windows open up pointing to a IP address that resolves to server.search-server.com and this keeps happening. There are three startup items that I block in msconfig, but they are active again once I reboot. I have tried to remove and alter the registry entries, but they are automatically repopulated. I've implemented a temporary fix, renamed the .dll files to a bogus extension, so now the programs error out each time I reboot, giving me three messages that the .dll files could not be found. Below you will find my hijackthis log. Can someone please help??? My virus and my spyware software does not detect these files or programs as a risk.Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2Scan saved at 10:03:43 PM, on 6/15/2008Platform: Windows Vista (WinNT 6.00.1904)MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16681)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\Windows\system32\taskeng.exeC:\Windows\system32\Dwm.exeC:\Windows\Explorer.EXEC:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exeC:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Matrix Storage Manager\IAAnotif.exeC:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exeC:\Program Files\Motorola\SMSERIAL\sm56hlpr.exeC:\Program Files\BigFix\bigfix.exeC:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\GrooveMonitor.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exeC:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus\VPTray.exeC:\Windows\System32\igfxtray.exeC:\Windows\System32\hkcmd.exeC:\Windows\System32\igfxpers.exeC:\Windows\ehome\ehtray.exeC:\Windows\ehome\ehmsas.exeC:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ieuser.exeC:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exeC:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil9b.exeC:\Windows\system32\SearchFilterHost.exeC:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exeR1 - rmurphy
Welcome to BestTechie! I'm Ryan, and I'll be helping you clean your computer.Sorry for the delay, the malware forum is a bit busy. Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.Close any open browsers.Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.-----------------------------------------------------------Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.-----------------------------------------------------------Close any open browsers. WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it startsPlease do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished. If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.-----------------------------------------------------------[*]Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.[*]When finished, it will produce a report for you. [*]Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**-Ryan
