ninjaninaj14
Hey, I'm trying to set up a dual monitor workstation. My main screen is a Dell SD198WFP, the other a HP w19. Both have a DVI input, but I'm using a DVI cable from the HP computer, and I just realized it's intended only for HP monitors. Can I use these two different screens together with a different cable? garmanma
Who says they're different? They're both DVI, correct?Setting up multiple monitors
ninjaninaj14
They both can connect with each other with a DVI to DVI cable, I have them like that now. But it won't show up when I right-click the desktop and try to set up the monitors. I also googled DVI cables to make sure I knew what I was talking about, and I found my cable, one with white DVI heads, and it said it was intended for HP monitors, and it has a list of compatible monotors, so I suppose that's it. Can I still use the two with a generic DVI to DVI cable?
