Andro1d
Hello and Welcome to BT. I am MoNsTeReNeRgY22 and I will be assisting you with your malware problem today. Before we begin, you should save these instructions in Notepad to your desktop, or print them, for easy reference. Much of our fix will be done in Safe mode, and you will be unable to access this thread at that time. If you have questions at any point, or are unsure of the instructions, feel free to post here and ask for clarification before proceeding.Step 1Please set your system to show all files. Click Start, open My Computer, select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file typesUncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.Click Yes to confirm.Step 2Please re-open HijackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below. R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = about:blankO3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbaredits/...html?p=ZCfox000O22 - SharedTaskScheduler: delayingly - {e89fa8e9-5c0b-45f6-a70e-f7b177bcd193} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\rtmipr.dllNow close all windows other than Hijackthis, then click Fix Checked. Close HijackThis. Reboot into safe mode.Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode. Please enter Safe Mode by using the Arrow Keys and then hit Enter.Using Windows Explorer (to get there right-click your Start button and go to "Explore"), please delete these files (if present):C:\WINDOWS\system32\rtmipr.dllAfter that, Reboot to Normal Mode.Step 3I see that Viewpoint is installed. Viewpoint, Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player are Viewpoint components which are installed as a side effect of installing other software, most notably AOL and AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). Viewpoint Manager is responsible for managing and updating Viewpoint Media Player’s components. You can disable this using the Viewpoint Manager Control Panel found in the Windows Control Panel menu. By selecting Disable auto-updating for the Viewpoint Manager -- the player will no longer attempt to check for updates. Anything that is installed without your consent is suspect. Read what Viewpoint says and make your own decision. To provide a satisfying consumer experience and to operate effectively, the Viewpoint Media Player periodically sends information to servers at Viewpoint. Each installation of the Viewpoint Media Player is identifiable to Viewpoint via a Customer Unique Identifier (CUID), an alphanumeric identifier embedded in the Viewpoint Media Player. The Viewpoint Media Player randomly generates the CUID during installation and uses it to indicate a unique installation of the product. A CUID is never connected to a user's name, email address, or other personal contact information. CUIDs are used for the sole purpose of filtering redundant information. Each of these information exchanges occurs anonymously. Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without user's approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This may change, read Viewpoint to Plunge Into Adware.I recommend that you remove the Viewpoint products; however, decide for yourself. To uninstall the the Viewpoint components (Viewpoint, Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player): Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs. In Add or Remove Programs, highlight >>Viewpoint component<< , click Remove. Do the same for each Viewpoint component.Step 4Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your desktop.Close all applications and windows.Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts. When the scan is complete, a text file will open - Main.txtCopy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of Main.txt in your thread in the HijackThis Log Help Forum. An additional text file, Extra.txt, will also be available (by default) in the following FOLDER, C:\Deckard\System Scanner. Please go to that folder and also copy the contents of Extra.txt to your post as well.Note: Some firewalls may warn that sigcheck.exe is trying to access the internet - please ensure that you allow sigcheck.exe permission to do so.
