Hi, I am at my witts end. My computer keeps shutting off when i try to go on my usual sites like king.com and facebook or when i try to play on any interactive site. It started a few nights ago and from a few hours it now shuts off after 5 mins. This is not usual as i've been on these sites for years. When i do a virus scan it shuts off the computer as soon as it is detected so it can't be healed. I had this problem last year and nothing could cure it so i had to reformat which i don't wish to do again. I have no problem browsing.can you help?

Hello and Welcome to BT. :)

I am MoNsTeReNeRgY22 and I will be assisting you with your malware problem today.

Step 1

Please re-open HijackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [AntiVirusProMFC] C:\Program Files\Antivirus Pro\Antivirus Pro.exe

Now close all windows other than Hijackthis, then click Fix Checked. Close HijackThis.

Please go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and remove the following (if present):

Antivirus Pro

Please note any other programs that you dont recognize in that list in your next response

Using Windows Explorer (to get there right-click your Start button and go to "Explore"), please delete these folders (if present):

C:\Program Files\Antivirus Pro

Step 2

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your desktop.

  • Close all applications and windows.
  • Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  • When the scan is complete, a text file will open - Main.txt
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of Main.txt in your thread in the HijackThis Log Help Forum.
  • An additional text file, Extra.txt,will also be available (by default) in the following FOLDER, C:\Deckard\System Scanner.
  • Please go to that folder and also copy the contents of Extra.txt to your post as well.

Note: Some firewalls may warn that sigcheck.exe is trying to access the internet - please ensure that you allow sigcheck.exe permission to do so.
