OCM
Somehow my husband's computer has been taken over by popups regarding trojans, viruses, etc. which have also changed the home page. I ran Highjack This and got the following messageLogfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2Scan saved at 9:22:27 PM, on 3/4/2008Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16608)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\AppCore\AppSvc32.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exeC:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\ALUSchedulerSvc.exec:\program files\mcafee.com\agent\mcdetect.exec:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\agent\mctskshd.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXEC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\BRMFRSMG.EXEC:\Program Files\NetProject\scit.exeC:\Program Files\NetProject\scm.exeC:\Program Files\NetProject\sbmntr.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfswctrl.exeC:\Program Files\NetProject\sbsm.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxpers.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exeC:\Program Files\Analog Devices\Core\smax4pnp.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\Program Files\Uniblue\PowerSuite\PowerSuite.exeC:\Program Files\Uniblue\SpyEraser\SpyEraser.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exeC:\Program Files\Uniblue\SpeedUpMyPC 3\SpeedUpMyPC.exeC:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbarNotifier\GoogleToolbarNotifier.exeC:\Program Files\NetProject\sbsm.exeC:\WINDOWS\explorer.exeC:\Program Files\internet explorer\iexplore.exeC:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exeR0 - Andro1d
Hello and Welcome to BT. I am MoNsTeReNeRgY22 and I will be assisting you with your malware problem today. Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.Double-click SmitfraudFix.exeSelect option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present). Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.**If the tool fails to launch from the Desktop, please move SmitfraudFix.exe directly to the root of the system drive (usually C:), and launch from there.Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/proc...processutil.htm

Based on an earlier post to me, I downloaded ComboFix, but it didn't work either. By that time, I hadn't gotten any help from Norton, Uniblue, HiJackThis or Combo fix. The problems kept getting worse so I tried another antispyware application - Spyware Doctor from PCTools. I ran it and it identified 3 Trojans as well as other high risk spyware. It removed all the threats and the computer is running great now. I'm happy that I had a success story to share.
