DarkestDream
hello guys,my friend been complaining about his laptop keep getting too much popups ads and his computer been slowing down. so i went to his laptop and installed Ad-aware and Spybot, and able to remove most of it (over 300 spywares.......) and ran a AVG AntiVirus and it clean. then installed SpywareBlaster. One thing i having problem is the hosts file. Spybot been trying to clean up the hosts (over 175 redirected hosts list). so i went to safe mode and still wont be able to clean up the hosts file. it seem something is preventing Spybot to clean the hosts. and i got a hijack this log. so here is itLogfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.0 (BETA)Scan saved at 4:47:02 PM, on 2/15/2008Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007\aawservice.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exeC:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXEC:\Program Files\Common Files\AOL\ACS\AOLacsd.exeC:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG7\avgamsvr.exeC:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG7\avgupsvc.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\CDANTSRV.EXEC:\Program Files\Toshiba\Power Management\CeEPwrSvc.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\DVDRAMSV.exeC:\WINDOWS\ehome\ehSched.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\PIF\{B8E1DD85-8582-4c61-B58F-2F227FCA9A08}\PifSvc.exeC:\WINDOWS\ehome\ehtray.exeC:\Program Files\ltmoh\Ltmoh.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\nvsvc32.exeC:\Program Files\Apoint2K\Apoint.exeC:\WINDOWS\ehome\ehmsas.exeC:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\TouchPad\TPTray.exeC:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\E-KEY\CeEKey.exeC:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\Power Management\CePMTray.exeC:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG7\avgcc.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\ezSP_Px.exeC:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exeC:\WINDOWS\wanmpsvc.exeC:\Program Files\Apoint2K\Apntex.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exeC:\toshiba\ivp\ism\ivpsvmgr.exeC:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exeC:\Documents and Settings\Brokenearz\Desktop\HiJackThis_v2.exeR1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54896R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://us.rd.yahoo.com/customize/ie/defaul...rch/search.htmlR1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54896R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://us.rd.yahoo.com/customize/ie/defaul...//www.yahoo.comR3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! rmurphy
Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or HereDouble Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan. The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.Extra Note:If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.-Ryan

rmurphy
Go to Microsoft's website => http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310994Select the download that's appropriate for your Operating System. Download the file & save it as it's originally named, next to ComboFix.exe. Now close all open windows and programs, then drag the setup package onto ComboFix.exe and drop it. Follow the prompts to start ComboFix and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Recovery Console. When complete, a log named CF_RC.txt will open. Please post the contents of that log.-Ryan
