novirusplease Posted January 9, 2008 Report Share Posted January 9, 2008 Well....initially when I logged on some pages on MySpace my internet explorer shut down and I had to start all over again, or just copy and paste the shortcut. A couple of days ago, I could not even log on without being in safe mode (which i am in now). I was on the log-in screen where you can choose with user to log into...and the finger pointing icon would not even pop up. Just the arrow, which would not allow me to click on any of the users. So, I logged on in safe mode. Tried a system restore to the date where I remember my computer performing correctly. Now, I am able to log on...but my McAfee anti-virus is not working (missing files supposedly) and I am not able to do anything really other than log on and start my ESET Smart Security anti-virus. After about 35%, it no longer works anymore . rmurphy Posted January 10, 2008 Report Share Posted January 10, 2008 Please try to do the following in normal windows; if it will not work, you should be able to do it in safe mode.Go to Start>Run.Enter sfc /scannow (notice the space between c /) and press OK.If Windows finds system files that need to be replaced, you will be asked for your windows CD.Once sfc has finished, download ComboFix from one of the locations below, and save it to your Desktop. Link 1Link 2Link 3 Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
