Interenet Connection Slows Down

K so my internet connection randomly started getting slower

I will disconnect modem and router and connect them back up again and the speed will go back to fast

But then after awhile it goes back to slow

This never happened to me before so i dont know whats the problem

I run windows xp media center

have panda 2008 antivirus

my internet provider is sbc yahoo dsl or at&t

I would try to pin point any changes on your machine. Also track the speed so when you contact your provider you have dates and times of the issues you are having. All this is under the assumption your machine is cleaned of spyware and virus. I would use more than one scanner to verify the machine is clean so if the subject comes up you have proof.

Also this could be the burst of the ISP. ISP's use the burst for users to have the speed upfront but the speed drops as time goes on, until certain criteria are met then the bandwidth will burst again.
