mikex
What kind of problems can I look at when putting an XP drive in an external enclosure the connecting it to a new Vista machine. The old drive is sata, the new machine is sata. There is no room in the new macchine to make the old drive a slave as it is a slim line type. The old machine is dead, and just doing an over all upgrade.mike
JSKY
I have had no problems with running Vista on one Disk, and XP on another. Depending on how you connect them it could create a new MBR for a dual boot setup. Just choose which one to boot from on startup. Or I connected my XP drive to the same line my CD/DVD is on, It always boots right to Vista. I use "Quick boot" (part of my motherboard. Just press F9 after the start-up post and it gives me the option there).
